Fun Times

This past week has been pretty fun and exciting. The weather was super nice (up until Saturday), and I finally got to wear my new Spring clothes!

One of my favorite bands, Rebelution, was here on Thursday night. I saw them a year ago with Fernanda in Las Vegas, so I knew it would be an awesome show. Luckily I got tickets beforehand, because when we got there it was already sold out. Megan was so nice and went with me and we met up with some of our friends after we got there. The first band, Pepe Love, was alright. But the second band, The Green, was sooo good. I discovered them a little while ago and their song "Come In" is one of my favorites. Then of course Rebelution come on last and they were even better than I remembered. I love them! After the show I saw the bass player of Rebelution walking and I was so excited! I basically freaked out and tried to talk to him, but he turned me down, what a douche. Rejection is rough! Right after that as we were walking out we saw one of the singers from The Green and he agreed to take a picture with us. After we took the pic I told him that I listened to his song every day, I think he was creeped out by me haha.

Megs and I.

This is the singer of The Green! What a nice fella.

Saturday was St. Patrick's Day. Too bad I wore my only green shirt to the concert on Thursday so I wasn't even looking very festive. Megan, me, and a couple of her girlfriends from work all hung out and went to a couple of parties. I guess you could say it was a night of excitement.

hahaha!

We are so romantic.

The next day I slept basically all day. So nice. Then later that evening Megan and I went to California Pizza Kitchen, walked around City Creek (which opens on Thursday), and watched a movie. The movie, Like Crazy, was supposed to be way sad and romantic, which it wasn't. I didn't even cry! How disappointing. City Creek was so cool though and I can't wait for it to open. It was freeeezing cold outside but Megan and I decided to be troopers and walk around. City Creek is so pretty and it would be such a fun time to live there. I think downtown may be our next place of residence. Who knows.

I took so many pictures this week, I'm so proud of myself! I'm going to Arizona Wednesday night, and it will be sad when I can't see Megan's beautiful face greeting me when I come home every night.

Welp, that's my story for this week!

Spring!

This weather is so amazing and it's making me feel crafty! My goal for the next two weeks is to make at least 3 spring crafts. I am so obsessed with Pinterest, I basically have an addiction, and they have so many cute spring decorations that are easy to make. Might as well call me Susie Homemaker!

Warm weather also makes me want to go camping, be in love, go on vacation to somewhere tropical, go on bike rides, swim, play basketball, go on hikes, and draw on sidewalks with chalk. I can't wait to do all of these things!

This weekend my pal Rachelle was home for Spring Break, so we spent basically 48 hours straight together. It was romantic. In a friendly way.

Creepy.

Last weekend Megan and I went out to sing some Karaoke, it was soo funny. We sang to Britney Spears, and threw down some Lil' Wayne. It was 2 legit 2 quit.

Karaoke

It has been so much easier to eat healthy since Megan is doing it too. I started doing Herbalife (which is the best thing I have tried...EVER), and Megan has been finding so many healthy recipes and is such a good cook! Seriously I thought Herbalife was a sham, but I decided to just give it a try. I just finished my first month, and while I only lost about 5 pounds, I lost TONS of inches. The ultimate compliment is when people start telling you that you look thinner, it's the nicest thing anyone could ever say to me! Seeing my body change is definitely keeping me motivated, and I would recommend Herbalife to anyone that wants to see serious results!

Megan discovered this delicious stuff called Spaghetti Squash. Last Sunday she was making dinner for us, and while it was cooking in the microwave we heard a huge bang! We ran over and opened the microwave, and we discovered that the squash was a little over cooked...

aka Squash Explosion!
It was still delicious though. Megan is so good to me.

We also bought Zumba for the Kinect a little over a week ago, and we have played almost every single night because we love it so much. It is seriously an intense work out. After just one song you are already drippin sweat! Try playing like 10 songs in a row. Yeah, it's death.

I found this funny picture that is a good example of what we look like while playing Zumba.
HAHA!

So we'll see how my crafts turn out this week. I'm also going to visit my Padre in Arizona next Wednesday so I'll have lots of fun and exciting pictures/stories to share when I get back.

One of my FB friends posted this quote yesterday, and I love it:

"The truth is, everyone is going to hurt you. You just gotta find the ones worth suffering for."
-Bob Marley

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Happy Birthday Megalicious!

Today I am dedicating my blogging skills to one of my BFFs Megan Loveless. It's her 23rd birthday and this calls for some serious celebration! Megan and I go way back...well really only about 4 years, but it's definitely been awhile.

It all began when she started hanging out with Zach V. A whole bunch of us would hang out every now and then, but Megan and I weren't very close. Eventually romantic feelings grew, and Megan and Dustin V became an item. Since Dustin was my roommate back then, I started seeing more of Megan. We even went on a fun trip to Vegas with the gang!

Vegas 2010

In March of last year I found myself needing a new place to live, and Megan needed a new roommate to live with. Luckily we both had the brilliant idea that I should move in! So I did, and as time went on we grew closer. Of course we've had our fair share of disagreements and arguments, but that's what friends do!
She has become one of my very closest friends, and she is always there for me. We talk about everything from boys, to clothes, to TV shows. She helps me make good choices, and we always have fun together. I would rather hang out with her than a boy any day! It's going to be a sad day when she gets married one day and I have to find a new roommate!

Here are some photos I have taken to document our fun times together.

Megan had her birthday party on Saturday, it was a fun time.

I even made a healthy Carrot cake from scratch!

So Megan, I just want to tell you that you are my best friend and I don't know what I would've done without you this year! Let's be friends forever, because it will suck if we don't!

HAPPY 23RD BIRTHDAY!!!

Love

For the past 4 or 5 Valentine's Days I usually always had fun romantic (sorta) plans. Since I am single this year I decided to make the most of it, and have the best V-Day ever! So it started out by me having a cough. This resulted in me being really tired and disgusting, so I called in to work. Then I slept until 1:00 in the afternoon!!! This is soo rare for me during the week, but it was basically the best thing ever.

After I finally decided to wake up, I showered and took my time getting ready. I think it's an unsaid rule that you're supposed look hot on V-Day, even if you don't have a date. Right after I woke up I went in the bathroom, to ya know, take care of business. I was surprised by a beautifully wrapped gift sitting on the bathroom counter! Since I am single, and have no potential boyfriends, I was a little shocked. It was labeled "To: Khristina, Love: Your Secret Admirer aka Vest Boy" (Vest boy is my secret crush who I really don't even know but I pretend to love him). The reality of this situation is that no, the gift was not from vest boy, it was from the best roommate in the world! I quickly opened it to find something I had been wanting for awhile.

The cutest Betsy Johnson make-up bags ever! Thanks Megan, you're the best!

Since Megan was so kind, I decided I needed to do something nice for her as well. I went and picked up a gift certificate for a Shellac manicure and pedicure for each of us. After she got off work I gave it to her and we went to the nail place. It was soo relaxing, definitely work it.

The results...

(Don't judge my E.T. toes)

Shellac!

Afterwards, we treated ourselves to a delicious Chinese dinner. It was breaking our diet just a little bit, but hey, it's Valentine's day! Following dinner we called up our two best guy friends and went to see The Vow.

It was pretty romantic, and I loved it.

So basically I gave myself the best Love day anyone could ever ask for! One advantage of being single is you can do whatever makes you happy, and you don't have to listen to anyone complain about watching another cheesy chick flick.
Although cuddling is fun, and having a boyfriend can be nice at times, I am perfectly happy where I am and am lucky to have such great girl friends!

Love really is a beautiful thing, and I am so happy for anyone that has found it already. I see so many people around me getting engaged and married, and it really is precious. I cry when I see anyone get engaged, married, or even express their love for each other (I mostly see this in movies, not real life). Hopefully one day I will fall in love and meet the man of my dreams. Then I can have my turn of being mushy and disgusting, and sharing my life with someone!

The moral of my story is...
Love between two people is a beautiful thing, but sometimes loving yourself is all you need.

This is pretty funny, haha.

Random

Let me just start of by saying how much I love Kings of Leon. I am obsessed with their music. Whenever I'm upset or in a bad mood, I listen to them and I'm instantly happy!

Well my New Years goal of eating healthy is going pretty well, and I'm closer to my weight goal each week! I feel so much better when I don't eat fast food and grease every day. I have more energy, and it gives me motivation to work out and continue eating healthy. Althought I confess that I have cheated more than I should, but sometimes I just need unhealthy food to satisfy my tastebuds!

Each morning for breakfast I make myself a green smoothie, which sounds gross, but is actually the most delicious thing ever. It usually consists of: spinach, non-fat honey greek yogurt, orange or apple juice, and various frozen fruits. You can put as much spinach as you want in it, and you can't even taste it!
Best discovery ever.

School started January 9th, and I'm taking 6 credits this semester. I feel like I'm a pretty busy girl. During the week all I really do is sleep, eat, work, and go to school. It's an exciting life. Not. Haha

A couple months ago my roommate Megan and I decided we needed some entertainment in our living room. She bought a new TV, and I bought an Xbox and Kinect. With the Kinect we also got Dance Central and Just Dance 3. They are probably the funnest most exciting games ever! I could play them all day, and it's kind've a workout if you dance long enough. I played every night for one week straight, that's how much I love it.

When Rachelle is residing in Logan, and I don't see her for many moons, I like to send her cute pictures of myself. This one is my cutest so far.

If I keep these good looks up, I'll have at least a million boyfriends in no time at all!

I would also like to say that I think it's sad when people start dating someone, and then they forget about everyone else in the world. I know I did this for a long time, but being on the outside has given me great perspective! It's good to have a balance between your lover and your friends. When I was acting like this I missed out on a lot, and lost a few great friendships. If someone really cares about you, they will realize that you both need time with your friends, and it's healthy to not be obsessed with each other 24/7! Just because you find someone you love doesn't mean you should cut all communcation with your friends.
My ultimate pet peeve is when girls can't do ANYTHING without their boyfriends. They can't talk to you, hang out with you, or even think without them. Luckily I pulled my head out and saw how disgusting it really is. No offense to anyone that does this, I just think it's dumb.

Well this has definitely been the most random post ever. But it's basically a summary of my life this month. I need to blog more!

The End.

New Year's Resolutions

Every year I always make a list of goals or resolutions that I want to accomplish. After about a week I usually end up forgetting about them. I decided to blog about my resolutions so that it will remind me to actually follow through this year!

#1 My number one, and most important goal this year, is to become closer to Heavenly Father, and start living a more righteous life. I have been inactive for about 6 years, and am ready to change that! It's crazy to think that I used to be such a good LDS girl, but that changed a little bit when my parents got divorced.
My goal is to try and go to church EVERY Sunday, pray daily, and read the Book of Mormon by the end of the year. All these things will eventually result in accomplishing an even bigger goal of mine, to be married in the Temple.

#2 I am going to start living a healthier and active lifestyle. I am going to limit the fast food I eat, and start eating 3 balanced, healthy meals everyday! I also am going to exercise at least 3 times a week, and my ultimate goal is to lose 20 pounds.

This picture is what motivated me to start eating better and exercising more. Seriously, this freaks me out!

#3 Be more creative, and make lots of cute crafts!

#4 Keep a diary, and write in it at least once a week.

#5 Try to be a better friend, and not gossip as much (it's one of my biggest weaknesses).

#6 Excel in school, and figure out what I want my major to be.

#7 Go on at least 3 vacations.

#8 Start being on time. I am late to EVERYTHING! It's terrible.

That's about all I've got so far, but I want to continue making and accomplishing goals through out this year. I have been good about working towards my goals this year so far, but it's only been 4 days haha.

The other night I was thinking about all the people that are getting married, finishing school, and even having babies. It made me realize how important it is to get your life on the right track and achieve your personal goals, because you never know where life is going to take you!

I also want to give a shout out to my BFF Rachelle Webb. She has been my friend for almost 10 years, and I love her so much! She has been home this past month from school for Winter Break, and we have hung out more this month than we have in probably a few years. She is the best friend a girl could ask for! But for real, I am probably going to cry when she goes back on Monday. I'm depressed. Love you baby G!

Goodbye 2011

I can't believe this year is already over. Looking back on all of the experiences that I've had this year, I am so grateful for everything I went through!

The beginning of the year was really hard for me. I finally ended my "toxic" relationship that had lasted for 4 1/2 years. It was probably the hardest thing I have gone through so far, but it was definitely the best decision I have ever made!

After that was over....

I moved in with two girls who I wasn't very close with in the beginning, but both became two of my best friends. I don't know what I would do without them!

I went to Vegas
to see Rebolution in concert
with one of my best friends, Fernanda

I finally started school. I was so scared at first for some reason, but I decided to start out with one night class after work and I LOVED it. I''m so happy I took that class because it gave me motivation to pursue a degree and make my life better!

I continued working in the Service Department at a BMW dealership, where I have made some amazing friends. Just recently I got a promotion and moved to the sales department. I'm excited to learn new skills and excel at my new position!

I became closer to my family than I have been in years, and had so much fun with them!

My Dad and his wife of 1 year had a baby girl, Mary Elizabeth Swihart. She was born September 24th and is so precious! I can't wait to meet her this spring.

I love my little cousins, and we welcomed Brady and Madeleine into the family last month!

I tried Sushi for the first time in my whole life, and now I'm obessesed.

I turned 21!

On my birthday I celebrated with some of my closest friends, and went out for Sushi!

Soon after I had my first clubbing experience with two awesome girls. We saw some interesting people there haha.

I spent some much needed time to myself, and read some great books. I rediscovered how nice alone time is, and that I go insane without it. I overcame my fear of heights and went rock climbing. It was indoor, but hey it's a start!

This year I have gained and lost good friends, and had wonderful and terrible experiences. But everything I have gone through has made me so much stronger. This year was my year to grow and learn more about myself, and while I didn't necessarily do anything super exciting, I figured out which direction I want my life to go in. This year was my stepping stone to the future I want. I have become so much closer to my family and friends, and figure out what's really important to me!

I am excited to start the new year, and the next chapter in my life!

So goodbye 2011...Hello 2012! <3
